CEO of Lincolnshire
Last month, nominations opened for Lincolnshire Sport’s tenth annual Sports Awards; a celebration of the county’s sporting champions from the past 12 months.
For the last ten years we have been celebrating sporting excellence and physical activity through our annual Sports Awards, with fantastic support from our headline sponsors Lincolnshire Media and many other generous sponsors.
Over the last ten years we have seen some amazing performances from county athletes, achieving personal bests at Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as World and European Championships. The last 12 months has also been full of exceptional performances that we as a county can feel deservedly proud of those representing GB, England and Lincolnshire.
As part of our 10 year celebration, we will look back over the last decade and remember some of the great Lincolnshire sporting heroes and celebrate the great performances of our very own athletes.
For all of us at Lincolnshire Sport, the awards are special because we are not only able to recognise the athletes who are flying the flag for Lincolnshire at national and international level, but those supporting behind the scenes; the volunteers, coaches and clubs from grassroots to international level who are the life blood of sport in Lincolnshire; without whose support we definitely wouldn’t have as many athletes to celebrate and recognise at awards evenings such as these.
It’s now time for the people of Lincolnshire to recognise the hard work and dedication of athletes, coaches and volunteers and to nominate them for one of these prestigious awards. There are thousands of inspirational people participating or supporting the delivery of sport in the county. Every club has a stalwart, who without the club wouldn’t survive, now is your chance to recognise their achievements by nominating them for this year’s awards.
